Happiness is who we are. Literally. We are extensions of God, or whatever you call Her, and that energy is love and complete happiness. We really can’t buy happiness, but we can be very happy with something we bought, right? That’s a hollow kind of happiness that usually doesn’t linger.
The only reason we desire anything is that we think we will be happier with the having of it. Think back on all the physical things you have wanted and acquired only to find the happiness it brought was fleeting. I recall thinking when I finally got through nursing school, I would be happy. Guess what? Nope. I was happy for a time, but then life happened with stresses and new challenges, and I found myself thinking again that I would be happy after this or that happened.
Happiness is a state of being that you can choose to be in, regardless of your circumstances. I’m not talking about the dancing with joy happiness, but the gentle and contented state that attracts peace. Being happy is a vibration that attracts to you everything you desire, but there’s a secret catch to making that happen. You must be happy with or without what you are desiring. That’s called non-attachment and it’s imperative to study and learn more about. Non-attachment is the secret to the consistent gently happy state of being. Knowing that no matter what happens, everything is working for your highest good is what brings you peace and joy.
I’m a work in progress with staying in the state of happiness all the time. I still get frustrated and angry, but I truly do think it’s happening less and less and negative feelings fade much more quickly than they used to.
There is a wonderful book I recommend reading. It’s written by Rhonda Byrne and it’s called ” The Greatest Secret”. The information within that book is life changing.
Don’t worry, be happy
